Instagram has announced new safety rules today.
The app will begin to restrict adults from contacting teenagers who don't follow them on the platform.
It will also limit the number of younger peoples' accounts appearing in the Suggested Users section under new safety rules.
Adults who attempt to contact teens that don't follow them will find that the option to DM them doesn't exist.
Meanwhile, people under the age of 18 will notice safety alerts appearing on Instagram soon.
They'll be warning people of adults acting suspiciously on the app, such as requesting to follow a lot of people at one or someone who sends messages to a number of underage teens.
The social media giant says it's continually investing in new ways to protect under-18s from inappropriate interactions.
