After last weekend’s break, a huge weekend lies ahead for Irish rugby as France come to town. It’s the first weekend of Six Nations action on these shores, and what better way to kick off what promises to be a stellar weekend than with Ireland’s own version of Friday Night Lights.
The Ireland U20’s come into their first weekend on home soil on the back of two hard-fought wins over Scotland and Italy, and the future stars of Irish rugby will be hoping to continue that vein of form when France make the visit to Donnybrook Stadium.
Nigel Carolan’s side will be aiming to show the world that the future is bright for Irish Rugby, and Electric Ireland is proud to sponsor the home games for the Ireland U20’s for the Six Nations campaign.
Anyone who knows anything about sport is aware that in order to have success at adult level, you must first focus on the young talent who have aspirations of lining out in the Aviva on Six Nations weekends in the future.
The U20’s have provided a huge platform for players to eventually move on to represent Ireland at higher levels, with the likes of Jack McGrath, Tadgh Furlong, Conor Murray and Simon Zebo all coming through the ranks in recent years, with Garry Ringrose donning the jersey as recently as 2015.
Any fans that plan on attending the France game in Lansdowne Road on Saturday are being encouraged to take some time out of their Friday evening to hopefully witness Nigel Carolan’s men begin a successful sporting weekend for the country.
For those of you who want to see the Ireland Under 20’s take on France in the Six Nations, the game takes place at the Donnybrook Stadium in Dublin at 8pm tonight. Let’s hope it can be three wins from three for the future stars of Irish rugby this weekend
