Ireland's Covid Incidence Rate Has Gone Up By 165% In A Month

The country's 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 has increased by 165 per cent over the past month. 

21 counties have rates of over 1,000 per 100,000 people. 

A month ago, the country's 14-day incidence rate was 433 per 100,000 people. 

It is now 1,146 - after the rate close to tripled in the space of a month. 

Louth has the highest rate, at 1,639. 

That's followed by Leitrim, at 1,542, while Carlow and Westmeath also have rates of over 1,500. 

Only five counties have rates of under 1,000 - Clare, Kildare, Monaghan, Wexford and Roscommon. 

Roscommon's is the lowest in the country, at 761.
