Irish Rail says it’s investigating after a photo emerged of two teenage boys ‘scutting’ on a Dart in North Dublin.
It says the practice - where people hold on to a moving train or bus - can have tragic consequences.
This photo shows two teenage boys perched between two carriages as the Dart arrives into Killester station.
A rep from Irish Rail has described it as a very serious incident and has passed the footage on to gardai.
And it’s not only the Dart where scutting occurs - it’s happened on the Luas - while bus drivers in Tallaght have noticed it too.
But routes like the 27 in Tallaght could be pulled if the problem – along with other anti-social behaviour - persists.
Young people and parents are now being urged to be aware of the dangers of scutting before it results in tragic consequences.
