Jobs to be cut
Arnotts and Brown Thomas plan to cut 150 jobs due to difficult trading conditions arising from Covid-19.
The owner of the department stores informed staff this afternoon.
Over 1,000 people are employed across the two outlets.
The company will begin consulting with staff and will offer voluntary redundancies, as well as considering career breaks, shorter working hours, and early retirement.
Managing Director of Brown Thomas Arnotts, Donald McDonald, says 2020 is the toughest year they have experienced.
