Keith Flint was found in his home
Keith Flint has died at the age of 49.
The front man for The Prodigy was found dead at his home this morning.
Police were called to the Essex property just after 8am.
They are not treating the death as suspicious.
A spokeswoman for Essex Police said: “We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address in Brook Hill, North End, just after 8.10am on Monday,”
"We attended and, sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene."
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Career
Keith Flint met his future bandmate DJ Liam Howlett in the late 1980s.
It was Flint who encouraged Howlett to play his music in clubs, promising to dance on stage with him.
It wasn't until 1996 that Flint would make his debut as lead sing for The Prodigy on Firestarter.
By the bands third album The Fat Of The Land he was contributing vocals to a number of tracks.
Outside of The Prodigy Flint has experimented with a number of solo and side projects.
He went on to own and manage a motorcycle racing team.
Upcoming tour dates
The Prodigy were due to kick off their No Tourists US tour in May.
They had 10 show booked across the month including a sold out New York date.
In addition they had a number of festival appearances planned.
An official statement about the tour is yet to be released.
