An Irish journalist working for CNN has been praised on social media for his work in covering the violence on the US Capitol yesterday.
Kerryman Donie O'Sullivan reported live from the centre of the demonstration on television and on social media.
CNN News Anchor John King praised the UCD-educated journalist, while #Donie was trending across the country last night.

Some commentators on Twitter say Mr O'Sullivan's upbringing in Ireland prepared him for the turmoil in Washington DC.
All the other CNN correspondents can’t believe this stuff and are freaking out but Donie O’Sullivan is strolling around like he’s seen far worse coming out of a Carlow nightclub #donie

Meanwhile Dustin The Turkey said he hopes to see the much-loved journalist as the next American Ambassador.
The Poultry Party is pleased to confirm we are in advanced talks with @donie about joining the party as our American Ambassador. A big step for us bringing a committed culchie into senior party ranks but we believe now is the hour to reach out to our country cousins. #donie pic.twitter.com/L9r7rKccGR
