A lemur is still missing after a fire broke out at an animal centre in Co Wicklow.
Two lemurs were set free from their enclosure in order to save them, after a blaze broke out and began to spread toward them at Copsewood Aviaries in Kilmacanogue.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the fire in the early hours of the morning.
One lemur was later captured, but the other, a male of seven years, has yet to be found.
The owner of the aviary says that he is very tame and doesn't believe the animal would have gone far.
Copeswood Aviaries, which supplies animals to film productions in the country, are currently working on the upcoming Disney film Disenchanted, starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, which is being filmed in Enniskerry.
Wicklow will be enjoying blazing sunshine and an experience akin to Madagascar this weekend, with Lemurs on the loose. If seen, please ring Ed 0862620201 pic.twitter.com/Ihyffk4UbS — Lorraine Dempsey (@LorDempsey) June 12, 2021
