According to People, Polevich is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with evidence.
As quoted by People, Nassau County Detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick said, 'He got out of the car, looked at the deceased, got into his car and made the conscious decision to leave instead of dialing 911 and calling an ambulance for the man.'
'He went home and secreted his vehicle.'
Charges
According to Associated Press, Polevich is free on bail following an arraignment in Nassau County court.
His driver's license has been suspended and he was ordered to surrender his passport.
He's also unable to leave the state and is expected back in court February 26th.
