A man has been charged in relation to the discovery of a woman's body in a burning car in Co Cork.
Mary O’Keeffe, who was in her 70s, was found near a wooded area outside Doneraile on Thursday afternoon.
A 62-year-old man, who was arrested on Friday following his discharge from Cork University Hospital, has been charged.
He had been rescued from a nearby river and was detained on suspicion of unlawful killing.
He is due before Fermoy District Court at 11am this morning.
Mrs O’Keeffe's remains were discovered inside a car that was on fire in the Doneraile area at around 4.30pm last Thursday.
The mother-of-three is from Dromahane, a village outside Mallow.
A post-mortem examination has been conducted at Cork University Hospital by the Assistant State Pathologist Margot Bolster.
However, the findings are not being released by Gardaí for operational reasons.
