'Home with the kids'
Mary Lou McDonald is at home with her children following a confirmed case of the coronavirus at their school.
The leader of Sinn Féin tweeted this afternoon saying, 'Home with the kids after a confirmed case of the coronavirus at their school.'
'I’m postponing meetings in Cavan + Galway as I’d like to stay close to home.'
'Stick to the medical advice, wash your hands with warm soapy water. Stay safe.'

In a video posted with her tweet McDonald acknowledged the, "worrying time for families and for the staff at the school, particularly for the family of the person affected."
She finished by advising people to wash their hands correctly and follow official advice.
The news follows the first case of COVID-19 in the Republic of Ireland, confirmed over the weekend.
A secondary school in the east of the country is closed for the next 14 days.
All pupils and teachers at the school are being treated as close contacts of the confirmed case.
Coronavirus
According to the HSE website, it can take up to 14 days for coronavirus symptoms to appear.
The symptoms are:
- a cough
- shortness of breath
- breathing difficulties
- fever (high temperature)
The virus is spread in sneeze and cough droplets.

While people are told not to touch their eyes, nose or mouth if their hands are not clean.
