Maynooth University has won an award for its work in advancing gender equality.
The Athena SWAN bronze award is being presented to the University this afternoon.
It was set up to encourage and recognise the careers of women in STEM subjects at third-level.
Professor Linda Connolly, Director of Maynooth Institute for Social Sciences, says its a great achievement:
"Maynooth University is delighted today to receive a bronze institutionally award particularly because we are the first Irish university to apply under the expanded charter."
