The minimum wage is going to increase by 30 cent to €9.55 an hour.
It means an increase of €12 a week for people who are in full time employment.
The hike was one of the recommendations of the low pay commission.
More than 120,000 workers are set to benefit from the increase and these changes will come into place in January.
