Funding has been approved for the new recreational area.
150-thousand euro is set to be put towards a brand new skatepark in Dublin.
It was approved during a meeting of Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown council last night.
The skatepark is the product of a campaign to build a world-class facility at the ferry terminal.
The coastal area has traditionally been a haven for skating in Dublin.
The amount of use the skate park gets in Weaver Park is so impressive. A great Dublin example of the "build it and they will come" theory pic.twitter.com/AoL5mQHMkR

Councillor Lorraine Hall says it will be a great addition for young people.
"Securing funding for the development of this facility is a major step forward in the delivery of this fantastic project," she said.
"This facility will provide a much-needed resource for teenagers and young children living in our area."
