Two suspicious deaths have been recorded since Monday.
Another body was found overnight in Sligo and a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The remains were discovered at an apartment on Connaughton Road at around 10:30 pm.
Gardaí says the man had endured significant physical injuries.
His body remains at the scene this morning with the state pathologist set to carry out an examination.

It marks the second suspicious death in Sligo since Monday.
There were also reports of an attack on another man in the town, who was assaulted and lost an eye.
However, it's unclear at this stage if any of the incidences are linked.
A man in his early 20s was arrested last night and is being held under section 4 of the criminal justice act.
He was arrested just before 2 o'clock this morning following intense Garda activity.
