One woman has died and two more women are seriously injured after a car hit a number of pedestrians in Cork last night.
It happened in the village of Ballingeary, southwest of Macroom, just after 1am.
A woman in her 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her two friends, in their 40s, were rushed to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.
The scene was sealed off this morning.
A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene.
He's being held at Bandon Garda Station.
