The Irish Hotels Federation reports that booking levels are at 23% for July.
According to their recent survey, a third of hotel rooms in Cork and Kerry are booked up for this summer.
While room bookings in Dublin are almost half the national average.

Of the over 32,000 hotel rooms available to rent this summer, just 23 percent have been filled so far this year.
Room occupancy levels vary from 35per cent in traditional tourist hotspots like Cork and Kerry to just 11 per cent in Dublin City.

He says he's seeing 11-12% occupancy for July and August.
However he's also hoping people put Dublin on their, "bucket lists."
Fiddle and Bow Collection in Doolin, Co Clare consists of air bnb cottages alongside a traditional hotel.
Managing Director Gerry Quinn says Air BnB staycationers book further in advance than hotel holiday makers - making demand greater.
"The average lead time for a cottage is about 6 weeks anyway."
"But the average lead time for a hotel is just a number of weeks."
There's currently no indication as to when inter county travel can continue.
Eilish Beirne from Beirnes of Battlebridge Campsite in County Roscommon says it's a concern.
She's expecting wild camping to become an issue:
"Parts of the country that don't have bins, or don't have waste facilities."
"So that's going to become an issue."
The IHF is calling on the government to give greater clarity on when hotels can get back to business.
