The petition was setup earlier this week.
People are coming out against plans to build a hotel and restaurant in a popular part of the city.
A proposed development is set to be built in Temple Bar at Merchant's Arch.
It has received much criticism online, with over 20,000 signatures gathered in a petition against it.
#SaveMerchantsArch - it’s too beautiful and so full of character. The very essence of Dublin! pic.twitter.com/if5VjwpAHK

Speaking to Newstalk, people on the streets were unanimous against the decision.
"I wouldn't like one in here, it'd spoil Dublin," a passer-by said about the proposed build.
"It's taking away from the look of it. That bridge is known for the Ha'penny Bridge and the Arch," another said.
"I don't think there should be because there's enough hotels around the city centre," was the opinion of someone else.
In the petition, the description reads:
Please don’t “develop” such an iconic part of Dublin that’s been in existence since 1821!
Merchant’s Arch is beautiful, full of character and should be left alone. It’s part of the very essence of Dublin.
