The Taoiseach says a potential windfall tax on energy companies will be discussed at a meeting of the coalition leaders later.
It comes as companies and households are set to be encouraged to turn down their thermostats.
That's in an effort to conserve energy.
Micheal Martin will discuss the ongoing crisis with Leo Varadkar and Eamon Ryan before bringing a plan to cabinet tomorrow.
Speaking in County Offaly today, the Taoiseach outlined what is on the agenda for today's crunch talks.
"We will discuss today the energy security issue, the pricing issue, the issue of a potential windfall tax for example."
"Also obviously there’s ongoing discussions within Government in terms of the budget - alleviating pressures on people and the best way to do that."
"In some instances making sure we can get funding to people, schools and certain enterprises that are undoubtedly impacted by the exponential growth in prices."
