74 Covid-related deaths have been reported over the past week.
It's the highest total since NPHET started reporting deaths on a weekly basis five months ago.
2,975 new cases have also been confirmed today.
551 Covid patients are in hospital - the highest since late February - with 89 in intensive care.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Tony Holohan, says the public hasn't responded to NPHET's call for a drop in social contacts.
"We're not seeing encouraging signs of reduction and socialisation."
"We're still seeing a high level of socialisation right across the population."
"So we're simply socialising at a level in broad terms that we simply can't sustain in terms of the numbers of case numbers."
So our message will be to people; if you're planning, and we're advising people to plan with these guidances in place, the basic public health measures in place."
"Look out over the next week, two weeks."

Significant Increases
The Dept of Health also reported nearly 25,000 cases of Covid-19 last week.
That's the third highest since the pandemic began.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer,, Ronan Glynn, says the situation is worsening in all counties.
"We're seeing significant increases in incidence across almost all age groups."
"With a particularly marked and sharp increase in those 19-24."
"Incidence in that age group has increased almost threefold over the last two weeks."
"We've seen significant increases, unfortunately as well, however, across all age groups age 13 years and older."
