Public transport will increase to 100 percent capacity from next week, the Department of Transport has confirmed.
It is currently operating at 75 percent due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The return to full capacity comes in line with the return of schools and offices over the coming weeks.
You are still advised to wear masks on public transport - including on Irish Rail, Bus Éireann and Luas services.
Originally, full public transport capacity was targeted for earlier in the summer, however it was delayed due to the emergence of the Delta variant.
The increase in capacity comes as ministers are due to finalise their plan for the further reopening of the country.
The full roadmap is due to be published next Tuesday.
