The cost of the new National Children's Hospital is set to rise by at least another 50 million euro due to inflation.
The head of the hospital development company has said the already over-budget hospital won't be delivered for the current 1.4 billion euro price tag.
It's completion date is now set for January 2024.
The project was originally meant to be complete by this August.
CEO of the New Children's Hospital Development Group David Gunning says runaway inflation has also opened up the State to more costs:
"The approved budget for the development board is 1.433 billion."
"I guess we're indicating to you there is obviously pressure on that."
"Inflation is not, was never, within that approved amount."
"So that's a fifty million anyway."
"There is upward pressure on that particular issue."
