The search operation for the remaining three members of Rescue 116 has entered the second day.
It's after Captain Dara Fitzpatrick was recovered from the water yesterday and died later in hospital.
She was part of a team that had responded to a call, when their aircraft went missing from radar at about 1am.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny expressed his "deepest sympathy" on behalf of the Government, while President Michael D Higgins has paid tribute "on behalf of the Irish people".
As darkness fell last night, the air search of the sea around Blacksod was scaled back, but the surface operation continued through the night.
