Sex survey
One in three female students say they experienced sex without consent in college.
More than 6,000 students from across the country took part in the study.
The Sexual Experiences survey found that 3% of students who were sexually assaulted in college lodged a complaint with Gardaí.
29% of females, 10% of males, and 28% of non-binary students reported non-consensual penetration by incapacitation, force, or threat of force during their time in college in our #SES with @ActiveConsent

It's the first time research like this has been carried out here for seven years.
Dr Padraig Mac Neela from NUIG is the author of the report, he outlines a worrying trend of students not even telling family or friends they were sexually assaulted.
He explained:
"29% of female students have described something happening to them during their time in college which is close to the legal definition of rape. That's the voices of over 1,000 women.
"When we break down the figures, we can see that the rate of non-consensual sexual experiences for males is about 10%... we've also included non-binary students - their experiences are similar to women."

Consent classes have been taking place across college campuses over the past couple of years.
The Union of Student in Ireland says these are a great addition and has caused positive changed.
6,000 students across the country took part in the study carried out in the first four months of the year.
