Special Olympics Ireland say they have found the perfect symbol for Valentine’s Day in Ireland in 2017.

The charity have placed giant blocks of ice carved into the shape of a heart Dublin and Belfast City Centres.

They’re marking the day as it’s one month to go until Team Ireland fly out to Austria for the Special Olympics World Winter Games.

The symbol of the games is the Beating Heart so we’ve been asking people what makes their heart beat.

Communications Manager with Special Olympics Ireland, Ross O'Donoghue told SPIN 1038 about some of the responses they've been getting:

"Well this isn't one for the luvvy-duvvies or the loved up.

"People are being given a chance to say what makes their heart beat on Valentines Day.

"Coffee is proving to be popular for the day that's in it. People are talking about their families, their loved ones, their dog, some people are really fans of chocolate and I definitely saw the word 'kebab' written down there somewhere as well."
