It's being reported that speeding fines could soon become linked to how much money the driver is earning.
The plan is being strongly considered by the Road Safety Authority, which could see drivers who earn €50,000 a year paying a €1,000 fine if they're caught speeding.
The plans are aimed at reducing the number of speeding-related road deaths.
According to the Irish Independent, the plans are to be forwarded to the Transport Shane Ross.
