A status yellow rain warning has been issued for the entire country today.
Met Éireann has warned that heavy rain and wind may cause disruptions as the day continues.
Those near the coast are being warned to be particularly careful due to high winds that could reach speeds of 90 to 110 km per hour in exposed areas and along shorelines.
Areas of the country most affected include Connacht, Munster and Donegal.
Met Éireann is urging the public to be cautious of spot flooding.
