Making A Murderer's Steven Avery has been denied a new trial, over the murder of Teresa Halbach.
According to ABC News, a judge has ruled that there is not enough sufficient evidence to warrant a new trial. This is despite the fact Avery's lawyer Katheen Zellner was confident that his conviction would be overturned.
'The defendant has failed to establish any grounds that would trigger the right to a new trial in the interests of justice', ruled Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, Judge Angela Sutkiewicz.
The judge also stated that 'no further consideration will be given to this issue.'

According to ABC News, Zellner isn't giving up.
'We are filing an amended petition because we have additional test results and witness affidavits. The scientific testing is not completed. We remain optimistic that Mr. Avery's conviction will be vacated.'
The second season of Making A Murderer is due to air later this year.
