A major new study across Dublin has found high levels of a harmful air pollutant in the city centre and along some of the capital's major roads.
A thousand citizens measuring nitrogen dioxide from traffic over four weeks found the levels are within EU limits but some were just below the threshold.
Among the areas with the highest levels were along the quays, near Trinity College, in Phibsboro and by the M50 in Blanchardstown.
Anne Bedows collected data for the study in Phibsborough.
The area worst affected by air pollution is Phibsborough in North Dublin.
Bedows says that nitrogen dioxide levels are three times higher than the limit that is recommended by the World Health Organisation.
This area of pollution in Dublin stretches from Phibsborough all the way to Mount Joy Square.
