It's being reported taxi fares look set to rise.
The National Transport Authority is considering raising them to cover the high cost of insurance.
The Times Ireland Editon claims there could be a 3 and a half percent price increase, which means the minimum rate would go from €3.60 to €3.80, and the premium rate from €4 to €4.20
The price-per-kilometre would also increase by up to 5 cents.
But The National Private Hire and Taxi Association wants bigger hikes to help cover the rising cost of doing business.
A public consultation on the issue will begin on Wednesday, were people are asked to give their opinions on proposed changes.
