A teenager has been arrested following a single car crash in Co. Limerick overnight that has left one man dead and another injured.
It happened at around 1am on the R518, Askeaton to Rathkeale Road.
A man in his 20s, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man, also in his 20s, received non-life threatening injuries.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, has been arrested and is being held at Henry Street Garda Station.
The road's currently closed and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
It brings to 93 the number of people killed on the country's roads this year - four more than this time in 2020.
