Three men have been arrested after a firearms seizure in west Dublin.
Gardai investigating criminal gangs made the discovery at Greenogue industrial estate early this morning.
Up to 20 firearms were seized, including a submachine gun, an assault rifle and a number of handguns.
Detective Superintendent Tony Howard said a number of firearms were loaded, the operation disrupted 'an imminent attack' and that lives were saved.
The men who are in their 40's and 50's are being held in Garda custody in the west of Dublin.
The Garda Technical Bureau are carrying out an investigation at the site.
