A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with an incident in Cork last night where three Garda cars were rammed.
A local in the Mahon area of Cork rang Gardaí last night to report a van driving erratically on the M8.
When a Garda car arrived and signalled the van to stop, the driver refused and instead rammed the Garda vehicle.
Two additional support vehicles arrived on the scene and attempted to block the van, both were rammed. A thirty-kilometre pursuit followed.

During this time the Gardaí were made aware that several people were in the van, including six children.
In order to stop the van, the Armed Support Unit was then called. A stinger device successfully punctured the tyres and brought the van to a controlled stop.
The driver was then arrested and taken to Bridewell Garda Station where he is being detained.
The six children and two of the Gardaí present were taken to Cork University Hospital for medical attention.
The children were unharmed but the two Gardaí attained injuries.
