London's Trafalgar Square was evacuated earlier today by police because of a 'suspicious item'.
According to The Mirror in the UK, there is a heavy police presence at the square.
Photos are circulating on social media of the area cordoned off by police.
Metropolitan Police have tweeted in the last few minutes an update saying it is not being treated as terror related and that roads have reopened.
Police called to reports of a suspicious item in Charing Cross. Not being treated as terrorist related at this time. No injuries

The incident in Charing Cross has now been stood down. Cordons will be lifted shortly

The incident comes after eight people were killed after a terror attack on London Bridge on Saturday night.
