Twitter has confirmed it is working on an edit button which will allow users to change tweets after they are posted.
Users have been calling for this feature as currently a post cannot be altered after it is shared.
Do you want an edit button?

We've all been there
You tweet something out, you react quickly only to realise there is a spelling error or you regret the post.
Twitter's communications team have announced they are working on an edit button.
Technology editor of the Irish and Sunday Independent Adrian Weckler describes the changes:
"Twitter says it probably is going to launch an edit button."
"But first it has to test it."
"It is worried about how this might be misused."
"Elon Musk is probably the most public advocate and he is well known for dropping incendiary tweets."

Misunderstanding
Managing Director with FutureWise Peter Cosgrove says because of the lack of thought put into tweets people often want to revise tweets:
"Everything can be very much misunderstood very very quickly."
"So you’ve a feeling about what you want to say."
"But often when you think about often how little time you have to say it - something very different comes out from what other people understand you to say."

Impulsive
Brendan Kelly Professor of Psychiatry at Trinity College Dublin says Twitter encourages impulsive reactions:
"Twitter plays into our poor impulse control."
"I think some people find it very difficult to hold themselves back."
Calmer Atmosphere
With the communications team at Twitter not specifying if edited tweets will display that they have been edited
A lot about the new feature will become apparent in the coming months
However a twitter where people can correct mistakes may just be a calmer one.
