Two people have been killed on our roads this Bank Holiday Monday.
The collisions happened in Wicklow and Meath.
A man in his 40s died after being struck by a car on the Coolgreany Road in Arklow at about 2.20a.m. A post mortem will be carried out at St. Columcille's Hospital, Loughlinstown. The driver of the car was not injured.
Meanwhile in Meath, A man in his 50s has died following a road traffic accident on the M1 near Julianstown, Co. Meath. The single vehicle crash happened at about 8:30am this morning between junctions 7 and 8 southbound. The driver of an articulated track, a man in his 50's, was pronounced dead the scene.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses for both accidents.
