Two Status Orange Cold Weather Warnings Over The Next Two Nights

Most counties are bracing for two nights under a Status Orange cold weather warning, with temperatures below minus five degrees.

The first alert comes into force at 6pm this evening until midday tomorrow, and concerns 19 counties in the South, West and North.

It's warning of "extremely cold" conditions on Wednesday night with widespread temperatures below -5 degrees "leading to severe frost and ice."

The full list is Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Galway, Leitrim, Roscommon.

Thursday Night

Met Eireann's second orange weather warning is for every county except Donegal, and that begins at 6pm tomorrow until midday Friday.

It also warns of "extremely cold" conditions that night with widespread temperatures down to and below -5 celcius.

A status yellow low temperature alert remains in place for every county until midday on Friday as well.

Meanwhile, 'enormous' numbers of air passengers have been dealing with delays and cancellations - Lisa is stuck in Germany:

"The next flight is tonight and we're so worried we won't get back."

Lisa says otherwise it'll be a case of going back again and finding a new hotel again.
