A student's union is urging authorities to act on reports of women being spiked with needles on a night out.
This weekend one student spoke on social media about her experience.
Meanwhile, Gardai are investigating an alleged incident in Dublin.

How Are People Getting Into Clubs With Needles?
Maeve Richardson is the Communications and Engagement Officer with UCC Student’s Union.
She says the issue needs to be taken seriously:
"It doesn't matter how many cases, how few or how many."
Additionally, she says, "nobody should be apathetic to this matter happening on our island."
"There are people taking part in this disgusting behaviour."
"We need Gardaí, nightclubs and others to take an active role in looking out for these perpetrators."
"How are people getting into night-clubs with these needles is what I'm asking."
Finally, Meave says, "we need to keep our young people safe."
