The United States of America is saying goodbye to the late George HW Bush at a funeral service in Washington this evening.
Family members of the 41st president, all of the living presidents, numerous world leaders and the American people are paying their respect to President Bush, who died aged 94 last Friday.
Among the mourners are two of his sons, former President George W Bush, and former Governor of Flordia Jeb Bush.
Other notable attendees include current President Donald Trump and his wife Melania, former President Obama and his wife Michelle, former president Bill Clinton and Trump’s former political rival Hillary Clinton.
Also in attendance is former President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn, who sat on the same pew as the other former Commanders in Chief.
Bush has been remembered for his public and military service, volunteerism and personal character.
Meanwhile, Sully, a labrador who became a companion to the former president when his wife Barbara died earlier this year, paid his respects at the coffin of Mr. Bush.
