A video which appeared on Global Degree's Facebook page titled 'a message to the older generations from millennial travelers' has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.
The video viewed over 5.7 million times sees a narrator attempt to educate the "older generations" on the lifestyle of a self-confessed millennial traveler.
Highlights include:
- The fact that the entire video is a angsty, sarcastic apology
- Phrases like "we are digital nomads"
- Claiming that not "tobogganing down a volcano in Nicaragua" would result in surrounding "people we love with our own pain and grief. Grief...
- Implying with sentences like "sorry if we don't support wars" that if you haven't danced "with tribes in Papua New Guinea" you do in fact support wars?
- And this gem - "We know you can also see the opportunity but may be too poor to do something about it"
We can't see this going down well with an Irish Mammy.
Needless to say reactions have been less than favorable. Have a look at some of the comments here.
