There has been a 31% rise in contacts with the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre as 18,400 people contacted service last year.
Figures show 84% of these contacts were female, 15.7% were males.
Rape was the most common form of sexual violence reported at 38.4%, followed by sexual assault and sexual harassment.

People In Their 40s
Although young people are the largest group to report sexual violence, CEO Noeline Blackwell, says there are large numbers of those in their 40s contacting the helpline:
Noeline says that group is the "next biggest" and "about the same."
The CEO believes there "we think, maybe an element of more people reporting, including those who have held on to hurt."
