A man in his 50s has died after a crash involving a car and a truck in Tipperary.
His death is the 150th death on Irish roads so far this year.
This crash happened at around five past twelve this afternoon on the N62 at Whitefields in Templemore.
It involved a car and a truck.
The driver of the car, a man aged in his 50s, died.
His body has since been removed to the Mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, where a post mortem will take place in due course.
The truck driver, a man also aged in his 50s, was uninjured.
The road remains closed this evening and local diversions are in place.
A technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators will be conducted in the morning
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have seen this crash to contact them.
Five people have died in separate collisions since Friday, and this afternoon's death brings to 150 the number of people who have died on Irish roads so far this year.
