More people are choosing to go on 'daytime dates' as a way to deal with rising costs.
'Daylight dating' sees people meeting for a coffee or a stroll to avoid more expensive dinner and drinks.
Novuna Personal Finance estimates singles go on an average of 15 dates, spending 1,870 euro, before finding 'the one'.
On average, women are spending around 68 euro a date, and men paying out 76 euro.
Dating Coach, Frances Kelleher, says people can't afford to go on too many nights out when they're dating:
"Dating has always been expensive."
"People are bringing people out to dinner. There's always the financial aspect,"
"When you're against the wall as it is with your finances, having a couple of dates, even a month can cripple it. "
So that's really where it's coming from."
