A student in Dublin will be unable to walk for 6 to 8 weeks after an early morning attack in the city, last month.
Alfredo Gallegos was travelling with his girlfriend by bus to Dublin Airport.
While waiting at the bus stop, they were approached by a man who had left his car yelling.
The pair thought he had a taser, and tried to escape, but the man driving the car reversed and ran over Alfredo.
However, the Mexican native says his view of Ireland hasn't changed, saying "I know these kinds of robbery are not very common here in Ireland.
I work as a Dublin tour guide. I know all the Irish history, I know all the things that the Irish people have suffered with, through the centuries."
However, he added, "psychologically it has been hard."
Gardaí continue to investigate the incident.
