Emergency services have dealt with a fire at a children's playground in Sandymount for the second time.
It happened at half-eleven last night at Sean Moore Park, beside Sandymount Strand.
Nobody was injured and Gardaí report that an investigation is ongoing.
The one million euro playground, which was constructed three years ago, is used daily by the community of Sandymount as well as those in Ringsend and Irishtown.
Second time in a matter of months the kids playground in Sean Moore Park beside Sandymount Strand has been set on fire. This was taken last night. Absolutely disgraceful. @DublinLive @FM104 @98FM @NewstalkFM @DublinInquirer @AmyBlaney3 @SandymountCB @SAMRASandymount pic.twitter.com/l5GfkEnvjr

Local Fine Gael councillor James Geoghegan says the local council has discussed installing CCTV cameras.
"Unfortunately, we discussed this at our last area meeting of introducing CCTV cameras near the playground which you know, sounds like a terrible idea that we'd have to do that.
But we have to find these culprits, arrest them and charge them because it can't keep going on.
It's a really top-quality playground that kids are coming along and just setting the thing on fire.
It's really just disgraceful."
Elsewhere in Dublin, fires have also been started in other playgrounds. Weaver Park in the liberties has seen an increase in garda presence around the playground at night since it was set alight in October of last year.
