The President has called on everyone to "increase the urgency" on climate.
It comes after a passionate statement by the Secretary General of the UN yesterday.
President Michael D Higgins says it would be a dereliction of duty to ignore passionate calls from the UN for action on climate.
Yesterday, Secretary General Antonio Guterres said the era of global warming has ended, and the era of global boiling has begun.
He called out fossil fuels specifically:
"The heat is unbearable, the air is un-breathable."
"The level of fossil fuel profits are unacceptable," said Mr. Guterres.

"Leaders Must Lead!"
Michael D Higgins says he felt a responsibility to issue a public show of support after this line from the Sec Gen:
"Children swept away by monsoon rains."
"Families running from the flames."
"Workers collapsing in scorching heat."
"Leaders must lead."
President Higgins says this existential threat must be met with the urgency it requires.
July looks set to be the hottest month in recorded history, anywhere in the world.
