The National Union of Journalists says RTÉ needs to answer "key questions" around overpayments to Ryan Tubridy.
The broadcaster on Thursday admitted extra payments of 345 thousand euro between 2017 and 2022 to the former Late Late Show presenter.
The issue was highlighted during an audit of RTÉ's 2022 accounts and subsequently investigated by Grant Thornton.
NUJ Secretary Séamus Dooley says people are extremely angry over the revelations:
"Generally I think the reaction I was getting was a sense of anger, a sense of frustration and also sympathy for ordinary workers on the ground."
"This is not the RTÉ they know.
"The corporate governance failures are the failures of a small group of people."
