A record 135,000 students have begun their state exams this morning.
Leaving Cert students began with English Paper 1, running from 9.30 until 12.20pm.
Students will sit English paper 2 tomorrow afternoon, at 2pm.
While Junior Cert-ers sit just one English paper, running until 11.30 am.
