Speak Up on SPIN is a brand new content series that aims to tackle important issues that exist in Irish society.
Ellie Kisyombe is a Malawian activist and former asylum seeker living in Ireland. She spent several years in direct provision.
Ellie is also the co-founder of Our Table, a non-profit organisation that uses multicultural food as a way to bring communities together and give people paid work. It also aims to educate people and end direct provision.
She joined Laura on Saturday's Plan B to speak about her experience. Ellie also told us how she feel privileged to work with open table and spoke about how education is key.
