Hairdresser to the stars, Andrew Fitzsimons has just released his first ever hair care range with Penneys, Andrew Fitzsimons x Primark.
He told Sarina on Saturday’s Plan B that he really wanted to make a hair care range that was accessible to everyone as everyone deserves good hair!
Getting to walk around Dublin and see his face staring back at him in Penney’s windows is surreal for him.
Andrew shared that he got his start in hairdressing because he wanted a summer job, so his mum got him one at a local salon. After just one summer, the then 13 year old was hooked and decided this was the career for him. He left school, learnt the trade and then at 17 made his way to Paris where he worked on editorials and fashion shows.
At 21, he flew to New York where fashion met celebrities and now he is the hair stylist to some of the biggest names in the world, including the Kardashian/Jenner family, Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber to name but a few.

But things weren’t always easy. He said that for the first 10 years of his career he didn’t make any money. He slept on friends’ couches and spent hours walking the streets to New York to get to jobs because he couldn’t afford the subway ticket!
Even when times were tough, he always backed himself because he knew he was going somewhere. After 20 years in the business he is finally there but this is just the beginning.
Andrew’s haircare range is available in all Penney’s stores now.
